Frequently asked questions

  • how do i join?

The 3 main ways to join:

    • Referral from your cardiologist

    • Referral from your GP or Nurse

    • You contact us directly (we will still need to discuss with your cardiologist/GP)

Our process around joining is designed to make sure that cardiac rehab is safe and appropriate for you and your recovery journey.

  • Heartworks is designed specifically for anyone who has experienced a cardiac event (or who has ongoing experiences) and wants clinically-led rehabilitation to take back control of their lives.

  • If you’re a cardiologist or a GP and have a patient that you believe would suit our programmes, make contact through our contact page, we’ll arrange a meeting to discuss your patients need and how our programmes can accelerate their recovery journey.

You can also refer through aspecialist and referrals through your own PMS. Just search for HeartWorks.

  • We do ask for a Cardiologist or GPs referral as this holds relevant information. However, if you have been seen by a local Cardiologist or discharged from a public hospital we can follow up a referral from the cardiology team.

  • You will complete around 30min of cardio work first, either on a bike, treadmill or rower and then you will complete around 20-25min of strength/resistance exercise in a guided circuit, followed by some stretching and cooldown before being checked out of the clinic.

  • It is our responsibility to ensure all our staff hold relevant education and training within the clinical exercise physiology scope to practice, this ensures participant safety at all times.

  • You will need to contact your health or life insurance provider to ask if they will support your cardiac rehabilitation journey.

  • Please get in touch for specific pricing as we offer different lengths of courses as well as payment options to ease financial pressures.  We also offer ongoing subscription packages following your initial 6 or 12wk course for those that want ongoing support in a clinical environment.
